15 Days Best of East Africa Safari Tour (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda)

[Day 1] – Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

You will be picked up from the airport by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda). After your briefing, you will be driven to Lake Manyara with a stop in Mto Wa Mbu town for a cultural experience with the Masai community.

During your cultural visit, you will watch traditional dance performances, see local art and craftwork, and also listen to folk stories.

You will then proceed to Lake Manyara national park where you will check-in at the lodge and have your lunch. After your lunch, you will engage in a game drive to explore the wilderness of the national park as you search for the tree-climbing lions known for being spotted in the trees as well as other wildlife species grazing in the plains such as leopards, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, kudus, elephants, buffalos among others. You will be driven to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night after your game drive.

[Day 2] – Morning game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park

On the second day of your 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda), after breakfast served at your lodge, you will check out and then continue for a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park to see wildlife species which are active in the morning and easier to spot. You will continue your drive to Serengeti national park where you will check-in at your lodge for your lunch.

After lunch, you will have a visit to the retina hippo pool to watch the hippos swimming in the pool in many numbers. You will also have a guided nature walk to get a close encounter with your surroundings in Serengeti national park as you enjoy the sunset. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge where you will have your dinner and overnight.

[Day 3 & 4] – Full day in Serengeti National Park

You will start your day 3&4of 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda) with breakfast at your lodge before heading out for your morning game viewing experience in Serengeti national park to explore the Seronera area which is known for big numbers of predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs that hunt prey like wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, giraffes, buffalos, waterbucks, kudus, hartebeests among others.

Lunch will be served at your lodge after your morning game viewing experience. You will have another game drive in the evening to look out for other wildlife species as you drive through the different tracks in the open savannah plains of Serengeti National Park. You will see the different kopjes in the national park where lions sit and watch their prey and these kopjes include the Masai kopjes, Moru kopjes, Simba kopjes. You will return to your lodge after your game drive for your dinner and to spend the night in the comfort of your lodge.

[Day 5] – Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

On day 5 of your 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda), You will have breakfast before checking out of your lodge in Serengeti National Park as you prepare for your drive to Masai Mara national reserve in the south western part of Kenya known for the big five.

After clearing with customs at the Isebania border, you will cross to Masai Mara national reserve and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

[Day 6] – Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Wake up for breakfast which will be served at your lodge early in the morning on day 6 of 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda) and you will then proceed for your morning game drive in Masai Mara national reserve where you will follow different tracks as you search for wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, lions, wildebeests, giraffes, antelopes, hyenas, warthogs, kudus as well as different bird species.

Your lunch will be served at your lodge after your return from the morning game drive or you may opt for a packed picnic lunch. After lunch, you will have another game drive to experience other parts of Masai Mara National Reserve as you search for wildlife species in the savannah plains as you enjoy photography and also watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge as the day before.

[Day 7] – Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have breakfast before you check out of your lodge ahead of your drive to Lake Nakuru national park. You will have a stop in Narok town for a cultural experience with the Masai people who have a unique culture and are very hospitable as they perform their traditional dances, listen to folk stories, and get to know more about their nomadic way of life.

You will continue your drive to Lake Nakuru national park where you will check in and have lunch. Later in the evening, you will visit Lake Nakuru which is famous for its flamingos which can be seen along the shores of the lake in big numbers as well as other bird species and wildlife grazing in the nearby plains. You will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night.

[Day 8] – Connect to Nairobi and flight to Entebbe Airport

After you have had your early breakfast at your lodge in Lake Nakuru national park on 8^th day of your safari, you will check out and your guide will drive you to the airport for your flight to Entebbe international airport.

On arrival in Entebbe, you will be picked up by your Ugandan guide who will welcome you to the pearl of Africa and drive you to your hotel either in Kampala/ Entebbe for your dinner and overnight.

[Day 9] – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

On day 9 of 15 days best of East Africa safari tour (Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda), you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge, checkout and embark on a 8 hours’ drive heading to Kibale National Park a home to over 13 primate species, on your way you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

[Day 10] – Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have an early morning breakfast, you then head to the forests of Kibale National Park for a chimpanzee tracking experience, Kibale forest national park a famous home for 13 species of primates include Olive Baboons, Bush babies / Demi doff Galago, Black and White colobus, Potto, Chimpanzee, Vervet monkeys, Blue monkeys, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Ugandan red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, Red tailed monkey, Uganda Mangabey and De Brazza’s monkey.

Before the safari you will have briefing at the park’s headquarters in which rules and regulations to follow will be read to you then head into the forests in search for chimpanzees, on the trek you will see many other primates and when you find the chimpanzees you will enjoy seeing chimpanzee collect fruits, play on tree branches an take pictures.

After the trek, you will then head back to your lodge for lunch and after you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park on a drive of 3 hours, you are to arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

[Day 11] – Game Drive and Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive, on the drive you will enjoy sights of many animals such as elephants, Uganda kob, leopards, antelopes and many more.

You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise, Kazinga channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward and while on the cruise you will enjoy views of hippos, crocodiles and many bird species such as herons, grey crested cranes, egrets, shoebills and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge as above.

[Day 12] – Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

You will have early morning breakfast at your lodge and embark on journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route game drive in the Ishasha sector for sights of tree climbing lions and many other animals that thrill within this sector of Queen Elizabeth national park.

Your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes about 6- hours and when you reach in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

[Day 13] – Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

You will have early morning breakfast on day 13 of your safari, then head to the park’s headquarters for briefing and registration, at the headquarters you will be taken through rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking, hire porters and then be assigned a gorilla family to trek. From the headquarters you will head into the forests of Bwindi on a trek of 2-8 hours or entire day looking for the mountain gorillas, the time taken to find the gorillas depend on the movement of the gorillas and terrain.

When you meet the gorillas you will mind blown with the amazing structure of these fur covered primates, you are given only one hour to be in presence of mountain gorillas while taking pictures and observing the behavior of the gorillas.

You will then trek back to the park headquarters and in the afternoon you can go for an optional Batwa community walk or rest at your lodge, on the Batwa community walk you will be entertained by local drama and songs, demonstration of hunting skills, building of houses using local materials and many more. In the night you will have dinner and stay overnight as above.

[Day 14] – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe Ride

You will have early morning breakfast, checkout and embark on your journey to Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake and a great tourist destination in Uganda. This lake comprises of various islands and a huge population of birds.

Your journey to Lake Bunyonyi takes about 3-4 hours and when you reach at the most beautiful lake, you will go for an afternoon boat ride visiting islands such as punishment islands, Kyahugye Islands, Bushara Island and many more.

On this ride you will enjoy sights of many bird species such as Pied kingfisher, Malachite kingfisher, Cinnamon-chested Bee eater, Bronzy sun bird, Pied wagtail, Grey shrike, Grey crowned crested crane, Hadada ibis, Swamp fly catcher, Black heron, Great cormorant, Fan-tailed widow bird and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

[Day 15] – Drive back to Kampala / transfer to Kigali City for departures

You will have early morning breakfast before heading to Kigali for a City tour with departures in Rwanda.
